This position is to serve primarily as teacher support in Henry's Fork Elementary; however, the coach may be called upon to help in other schools as needed.

  1. TITLE: Instructional Coach

 

  1. QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate and additional coursework in instruction.
  2. A minimum of three successful teaching experience.
  3. Valid Idaho driver’s license with clean driving record.
  4. Previous successful experience working with adult learners.
  5. Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a part of a team.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

 

  1. JOB GOALS:

 

         To support the delivery of School District 215’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test.

 

         To promote educationally and psychologically healthy environments for all students by implementing research based, effective programs that prevent problems, enhance independence, promote optimal learning and positive mental health.

  9. Knowledge and experience using the coaching process with other teachers.
  10. Acts as a resource who is skillful, reliable, approachable, and accessible.
  11. Willingness to collaborate with teacher teams, co-teach lessons, and do demonstration teaching.
  12. Utilize creative solutions for implementing school-based staff development.
  13. Ability to work effectively with new teachers providing support and encouragement through district induction and mentoring.
  14. Ability to think flexibly and to adapt work to the needs of the teachers.
  15. Knowledge of the change process and ability to help teachers make sense of change.
  16. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  17. Ability to manage time and schedules flexibly and in a way that maximizes teacher learning, including working a flexible work year.
  18. Ability to work with teachers in a way that improves student learning; teacher expertise is in direct correlation to student achievement.
  19. Ability to analyze data and work with teams to develop goals for improving student achievement.
  20. Demonstrated teacher leadership skills.
  21. Participation in district in-service programs.
  22. Knowledge of Idaho Core State Standards.
  23. Assistance with compliance and implementation of state and federal programs.
  24. Assistance with implementation and evaluation of school-wide Positive Behavioral programs.
  25. Participation in the coordination of parent involvement nights.
  26. Assistance with organizing and distributing elementary curriculum and intervention resources.

 

  1. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher, the Idaho Code of Ethics, the policies of Fremont County Joint School District #215.

 

 

         The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints.  Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy.  Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education.

 

 

         Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by Building Administration, in accordance with provisions of the negotiated master agreement, state statue, and board policy.
